Flight Crew Training Manual: Chapter 6 Rejected Landing/Balked Landing

  •  After touchdown - Disengage autopilot and autothrottle if not previously disconnected

  • Advance thrust levers to go around power and observe or verify speed brakes retracted

  • DO NOT change configuration and accelerate to Vref speed

  • Pitch up to 15º nose up

  • Once positive climb is verified (Altimeter), press TOGA (Verify and call TOGA mode has engaged FMA )

  • Call Gear up - Flaps 15

  • Follow FD in G/A mode, verify or call LNAV engaged FMA

  • Proceed with the normal G/A procedures

Training notes: If a CAT II approach is followed by a Balked Landing, Dual A/P automatic G/A mode will no longer be available
